The rest of the month at Liberty Street

OK, so the summer beer festival is finally over, but of course, we have more beer to pour at other locations. On the 28th and 29th, we will be up north for the Traverse City Beer and Music Festival. We did well enough at the winter festival, that we have been invited back for more.
This Wednesday, we will release a small batch of an experimental Oatmeal Stout recipe, come try it and let us know if you like the way it turned out. Then on Friday the 20th, Acoustic Guitarmageddon entertains with some of the areas premier guitarists performing classic jams that will have you dancing in no time. Saturday the 21st is another of our favorite bands, Plain Brown Wrapper. Come see them starting at 9:00, and as always at LSBC, there is never a cover, and all ages are welcome.
Wednesday the 25th is our monthly Mug Club event. Members enjoy discount pricing on special release beers before the general public can have them. I expect to have a sampling of a new beer that night, so don’t miss out.
The weekends entertainment includes Soundcake on Friday the 27th, and The Mean Reds on Saturday night the 28th. We have made a special edition of our Red Glare Amber Ale, brewed with red chili peppers for a little snappy peppy. We call this beer; Mean Red Glare in honor of our evenings entertainment.
Other happenings that you may or may not be aware of is that we are going through some personell changes with some of our servers, and we have hired two part time cellarmen to work in the brewery with us. Josh Traylor has been with us since the beginning, and he is now leaving to return to school in U of M’s graduate program. We thank him for all he has done so far, and wish him the best of luck for his future plans. Mary Jo Cothery is also leaving, but not completely – she has taken full time employment with another company, and will be working ‘normal people’ hours. She has requested to stay on with her Sunday shift, and we’ll allow it until she gets sick of us.
LSBC welcomes to it’s brewery team Rob Henry, and Matthew Courtright. Rob has been with us for a while as an intern, and we have made him a little more official now, Matt has been around the brewery helping out for a long time as well, and is now able to help out more regularly.
