Post Beerfest News

This years Fall Beer Fest in Detroit’s Eastern Market was a complete success! The weather was better than any beerfest I’ve been to in a while, and there was no shortage of great beers to be sampled. We brought a limited assortment to this festival in an attempt to reduce our physical strain of loading in and out. It worked out perfectly for us as we brought the now infamous Punkin Pie Ale, Naked Sunday (formerly known as Studly Monk), Starkweather Stout (our original) and this years version of our Octoberfest. The lines were longer than they have ever been, and the kegs emptied out one after another in the order listed above.
This Friday night, the 29th, we welcome The Delta Twins. Delta Twins is powered by the twin engine of Bob Young (vocals, acoustic & electric guitar, blues harp, keyboards, loops) and Tom Kozanecki (acoustic & electric guitars, resonator, mandolin, bass, percussion). This duo is known for passionate original songs that get your feet moving, your heart beating, and your soul leaping. Their funky, rootsy blues/folk/rock hits you at your core; it sounds familiar and yet unique at the same time.
As of this posting, we don’t have entertainment scheduled for this Saturday, but that may be a good thing… come on down and enjoy a peaceful Devil’s Night at Liberty Street Brewing. Of course we’ll have all the games on, even the one on Sunday, so enjoy a pint or two and watch me yell at the TV as if the officials can hear me.
On Tuesday, November 2nd, we welcome back Motor City Trivia. Presenting two rounds of 8-Ball Trivia at nine and ten in the Upper Hall. We were their first venue when they started out, and we are happy to be back with them to entertain our guests. It is always free to play, and you can win prizes, so there’s really no reason not to play.
And then there’s Saturday the 6th… well, if you don’t know it yet, this is the place to be. We are excited to welcome Funktion back to Plymouth for another blow out show. Mary Jo will be celebrating her birthday this night, so come and make notes of her behavior for future harassment or blackmail. Back to the band – the last time they played here, the lead singer and sax player were dancing on the bar, and I don’t think they are planning to reduce that kind of energy for this show. Of course if you do miss this show, you’ll hear all about it I’m sure.
The next day is our second Rouge Brew tasting with Rex Halfpenny and the Friends of the Rouge. We are one of a few breweries that produce on the Rouge water basin, and the FOTR have selected us to host this important fundraising event. Rex will walk you through the rich brewing history of Michigan, and guide the tasting of our award winning beers. See the FOTR website here for more info.
