Or do it in public – It’s perfectly legal (thank you Jimmy Carter), except in Alabama.Come to the loading dock in the rear of the brewery this Saturday starting at 9am to see demonstrations of various brewing techniques presented by the Sons of Liberty Homebrew Club. Whether a noobie brewer or self proclaimed expert, you will be able to learn something by watching and asking questions. This event coincides with the American Homebrewers Association (AHA) and the annual Learn to Homebrew Day – we will have hot dogs and snacks for those that want to learn the most rewarding hobby there is.
With expectations of great weather that day, we hope you may pop into the tasting room to enjoy a couple of our more refreshing beers; Clementine Lemon Thyme has been on for a while, and as our spring and summer seasonal, we already know how refreshing it can be on a hot day in

Also soon to be released, is this years batch of 42nd Parallel – one of our popular dry hopped double IPA’s. Last year we bottled a small amount of this beer, and our intention is to do the same again this year. We are having the label updated with our new artist, so we are even more excited about this release. The date for this release is the same every year – April 20th when we open for business. As an added bonus to this release date, we have booked Social Bones for a triumphant return to the Upper Hall. There is not a better band to help us celebrate this date, so come out and join us for an awesome show with amazing beer.
Speaking of bottling, we are getting all of our materials set up in hopes to have bottles on the shelves in stores near you within the next two months. Follow us on Facebook for more (informal) updates.

Today we release this years version of Siamese Dream (aka: Liberty Two). This marks the first day of spring, as well as my birthday – and the day I brew the annual batch of 42nd Parallel (to be released on April 20th). These are both double IPA’s that are very popular, so get in to try them when they are released because there is no guarantee that they will last.
We have also doing a lot of brewing for distribution lately as well, so when you go to a bar or restaurant and they don’t serve Liberty Street Beer, ask them to get it on tap for you. We are also finalizing our bottling plans so that our first four brands will be available soon in stores near you – again, if you don’t see Liberty Street, ask for it please. Stay up to date with these events by following us here or on Facebook, or just come in and ask what’s going on while enjoying a great beer.
We have Four Block Empire returning to the Upper Hall at Liberty Street this Saturday at 9pm. As always, there is no cover for this show, so be here to see a great group of outstanding musicians.

We are releasing the most recent batch of award winning Liberty One Porter today. And there is still a little bit of the Fat Elvis left from Monday night’s release. This is a different porter made with bananas and peanut butter powder to replicate The King’s favorite snack.
We are also working on this years first batches of Clementine Lemon Thyme with a zesting party on Monday the 27th in the Upper Hall. Starting at 7pm, meet me there to zest the first ten batches worth of citrus – bring a zester with you, and I will buy you your first beer. I need a lot of help as we will be doing the zest for our production batch this spring to be distributed throughout the state in kegs and bottles – a total of 10 cases of lemons and 3 cases of clementines are needed for these first batches, and it would be great to have them done soon.
Of course, if I’m talking about CLT coming to tap soon, that means that Punkin’ Pie Ale is soon to be off tap. I know this will upset more than a few people – it is the most requested beer during the summer. There is still plenty left right now, so I suggest a fix before it is gone, or maybe a kegerator in your kitchen with Punkin’ Pie on tap would be the most logical step.

Tomorrow is Valentines Day so we have our popular Red Velvet being tapped for the occasion. This chocolaty beer has a nice sweetness from the caramel malts that really give this beer a desert-like quality. There’s only a small amount available, so be sure to get here soon to get a taste.
Other beers coming to tap soon are Liberty One, Siamese Dream, and there’s even been an Elvis sighting. That’s right, our friend George brought his recipe back to the pilot system for another small batch of Fat Elvis, a Peanut Butter and Banana Porter modeled after The King’s favorite snack. Keep following our tap selection by following us at OnTapNow.com, or follow us on Facebook.
Also this Saturday, we welcome back one of our favorite bands for a rare live performance at Liberty Street. The Crane Wives are an indie-folk outfit from Grand Rapids, MI that defies musical stereotypes. Formed in late August of 2010, they just finished recording their debut album entitled “Safe Ship, Harbored.” Using three-part vocal harmonies, eclectic instrumentation and a knack for dynamics, they create organic music that is both accessible and innovative. Each live show features contagious energy as well as original music that ranges from whisper quiet ballads to danceable grooves. The show starts at 9pm, and as usual, there is no cover.
We have elevated our sophistication a bit recently with the addition of wine to our menu of available beverages. While you are here, take a look upstairs at the art on display this session – Liberty Street hosts local artists bi-monthly in private showings in the Upper Hall.

Plymouth’s popular Ice Festival is this weekend, so come in to warm up with a delicious craft beer after viewing the ice sculptures downtown.
Then on Saturday the 21st, we will host the east side (of the state) release of the new CD from The Northern Skies. Following a sellout crowd at Founder’s in Grand Rapids (the band’s home base), they bring the music from the new album, “Thick As Thieves”, to Liberty Street.

Everybody has been asking what we would make for our Christmas beer this year, and what we have come up with is a nice stout that has been infused with blueberries and vanilla for a fruited smoothness that compliments the beer.

Berry Vanilla Stout

will have it on the taps on Tuesday the 20th, and it will probably only last until this weekend, so be sure to come by and try it.
Another common request is a wheat beer, and though that would be considered out of season, we have accommodated by making the heartier

Wheat & Rye ESB

which should be on tap just before the turn of the year. Then just after recovery from the new year celebration, we hit you with one of our favorites –

Emperor Norton

, an Imperial Stout made to warm you from the inside out.
